Repo Men Full Movie Kickass Torrent > DOWNLOAD (Mirror #1)

Show Spoiler

Set in the near future when artificial organs can be bought on credit, it revolves around a man who struggles to make the payments on a heart he has purchased. He must therefore go on the run before said ticker is repossessed.
In the future humans have extended and improved our lives through highly sophisticated and expensive mechanical organs created by a company called "The Union". The dark side of these medical breakthroughs is that if you don't pay your bill, "The Union" sends its highly skilled repo men to take back its property… with no concern for your comfort or survival. Former soldier Remy is one of the best organ repo men in the business. But when he suffers a cardiac failure on the job, he awakens to find himself fitted with the company's top-of-the-line heart-replacement… as well as a hefty debt. But a side effect of the procedure is that his heart's no longer in the job. When he can't make the payments, The Union sends its toughest enforcer, Remy's former partner Jake, to track him down.
In the near future, the company "The Union" provides expensive prosthesis to improve the lives of the clients. However, the company sends repo men to retrieve the artificial organs for those that do not pay the installments. The former soldiers Remy (Jude Law) and his best friend Jake (Forest Whitaker) are among the best repo men of the company; however Remy's job cost his marriage and his wife Carol (Carice van Houten) leaves him. When Remy is ready to request to be transferred to the sales department expecting to save his marriage, he has an accident with a defibrillator and he needs heart transplantation. The prosthesis is very expensive and Remy changes his behavior after the medical procedure, and he is no longer capable of chasing the debtors. Meanwhile Remy helps the singer Beth (Alice Braga), who owes a large amount to The Union, and sooner they are chased by the repo men.

"Repo Man" is a gore and violent film with a predictable plot. The story has a poor description of this futuristic society, where a corporation has the power of God, tricking clients and using abusive means to retrieve the prostheses from those that do not pay the bill. When we see the line of production, it is hard to believe that the prostheses are so expensive that the company needs to retrieve them. If the intention is to intimidate the clients to pay, this type of marketing would never work. Therefore, the principle of the story is stupid and contradictory. The conclusion is totally predictable and disappointing. My vote is six.

Title (Brazil): "Os Coletores" ("The Collectors")
Booo!!

At least Repo! The Genetic Opera (a movie with a very similar plot) knew it was a fantasy and was able to laugh at itself, and so it successfully crossed the reality boundary and we could suspend our disbelief. But Repo Men, on the other hand, takes itself too seriously, and as a result, it just doesn't work, not for a minute, because it is completely unrealistic and we can't understand anyone's motivations.

How can we believe, for example, that a corporation that is so technologically advanced, that it can create artificial body organs, would hire mindless brutes to hack up their clients with butcher knives in order to repossess said organs? And that such a corporation is run by a single individual, the bad guy from Wolverine no less? That premise would work if this movie had the tone of a comic book, but it doesn't. It tries to play out the ridiculousness in a real word scenario. So nagging questions bug us and keep us from enjoying the film. Like, wouldn't it be more economically feasible just to tazer the defaulters and then bring them into some type of sterile operating room where the extraction could be done more properly, instead of ripping their guts out right in the middle of the street? Or, at least, give the repo men some modern equipment like lasers for less sloppy surgery? And how could the public be ignorant of this brutal style of repossession when mutilated bodies are stacking up on a daily basis? And all that murder doesn't make the news? What kind of government allows this to happen? In fact, we aren't told anything at all about this futuristic society's structure other than that, well, oh my, repo men go around ripping organs out of people.

Forrest Whitaker completely wastes his talent; he plays a stereotype of himself. He won an Oscar, so why is he stooping to this kind of dredge? Why doesn't he take on a more serious role like a new version of Columbo or something? He has that eye thing going on, after all. Jude Law is simply annoying as the Repo Man who is suddenly on the run, ala Total Recall or a dozen other movies. All the acting is horrible but the writing is worse. Even Minority Report makes more sense than this trash. It's as if they took some old formulaic script and simply replaced the Surrogates or Terminators or Robots or whatever with Repo Men but left everything else the same.

As a story, Repo Men makes absolutely no sense. It goes from one preposterous scene to the next, as if what happened in the previous scene has no consequence. There is one scene toward the end in which Jude Law takes on a dozen men in a sort of music video fight scene that is halfway cool, but since nothing prior to that establishes Law's character as a martial arts expert, even that bit of relief to the boredom ends up coming off as pure stupidity. The film moves on from there into an admittedly pretty original scene of mutual surgery between man and woman, offering the only haunting images of the film, but by then we are already at the last ten minutes of the ride, so it is too little, too late. And even that is spoiled by a forced Vanilla Sky ending that simply adds to the pessimism of the entire show. And the special effects suck too.

Blah!

Repo Men tries so hard to be Blade Runner but it fails miserably. This mess is completely boring and predictable. If you must see it, wait until it comes to one of those one dollar movie dispensaries outside of your local grocery store. At least then you won't feel ripped off.
If Repo Men could have sustained its ghoulish humor, it might have been a guilty pleasure.
Repo Men is based on the novel The Repossession Mambo by Eric Garcia. It's called "Burn My Shadow" by UNKLE. The DVD and Blu-ray disc releases of the film contain both the theatrical version (rated R) and an unrated version of the movie. The longer cut has approximately 7 minutes of additional footage, mostly containing story-driven scenes but also some slight corrections of editing mistakes and some new gore.
